Marshall Gets Coding
Marshall Middle School students now have a new opportunity available for after-school enrichment. The Marshall Coding Club is the newest club on campus that began on January 9, 2023, under the leadership of technology teacher Cedric Stoner. It is open to all sixth through eighth grade students and provides a fun way to teach advanced coding skills and improve upon skills that students may have already learned in their other classes.
While the club is open to all grade levels, seventh and eighth grade students who are enrolled in Technology Applications have a unique opportunity to build on the skills they are learning in their classes; sixth grade students are able to get a jump start on their knowledge. “I believe this club is a great way to get students interested in future careers by teaching them basic terminology and coding skills such as the Scratch programming language,” said Stoner.
The club currently meets on Mondays after school.
