Guess Elementary Gallery of Gratitude
Students have been hard at work on a secret project for the faculty and staff at Guess Elementary. During the month of November students have been working on portraits, writing letters, and many other special projects showing their gratitude to the teachers and staff. “We read ‘Have You Filled a Bucket Today’ by Carol McCloud which teaches spreading kindness to everyone whether you know them or not,” said Art Teacher Kelsey Thibodeaux. “I really wanted to reinforce what it means to be a ‘bucket filler’ and how we can show our appreciation and gratitude for our Guess family.” The Gallery of Gratitude was placed in the hallway after teachers and staff left for the day and when they returned to work on Thursday, November 17 they were presented with their portraits and projects. Kindergarten made hearts of gratitude, 1st grade made high fives of gratitude, 2nd grade wrote notes of gratitude, 3rd grade did portraits, 4th grade wrote letters of gratitude and 5th grade made frames and bookmark poems with the help of 5th grade teacher Holly Martin. “The teachers and staff were totally surprised and were overwhelmed by the student’s kindness” said Thibodeaux.
