Charlton-Pollard Students Participate in Leadership Program
On Friday, October 30, 2015 fifth grade students at Charlton-Pollard Elementary were given the opportunity to participate in the Leadership Training Program with the Texas Academy of Leadership in Humanities (TALH).
The Leadership Training Program is an extension of the Lamar University Texas Academy of Leadership in the Humanities (TALH) program which provides students the opportunity to pursue the ideals of academic excellence, ethical leadership and community service within the context of a rigorous university setting, far beyond that of a high school education.
During the program, guest speaker Dr. Otillia Urbina, Director of the Lamar University Bernard Harris Summer STEM Camp, presented a lesson in STEM education and encouraged students to take an interest in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) education.
