Mr. Jonathan Breaux

Room : A4

Pre - Algebra

Mr. Jonathan Louis Breaux was born a long, long time ago in Port Arthur, TX. He grew up moving around the Golden Triangle area, spending his time in Beaumont, Port Arthur, Port Neches, Nederland, Bridge City, and Orange. He was the second of four children; all three of his siblings are sisters. They are all incredibly talented, smart, and successful women. His mom is a Beaumont ISD school teacher at Sallie Curtis, and his dad is a mechanical engineer at DOW. He admires and looks up to both his mom and his dad, and is very thankful for them.

Mr. Breaux was homeschooled until the eighth grade. He graduated as valedictorian from a private school in Orange, TX. While in school, he participated in multiple sports, including cross country, football, and basketball. He went on to Lamar University, where he graduated cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics Education. He absolutely loved his math classes there, and enjoyed his time at Lamar.

For a few years, Mr. Breaux worked as a tutor at Lamar University, where he tutored college-level math classes. Mr. Breaux also coached cross country and track and field at his high school for a few years.

Since graduating from Lamar University in January 2018, Mr. Breaux has worked at John P. Odom Academy in Beaumont, TX. He is very proud to be a part of such a great school. He currently teachers Pre-Algebra to 6th grade Pegasus students and 8th Grade students. In addition to being a math teacher, he is also the sponsor of the Bible Club, and coaches MathCounts as well as Genaral Math and Number Sense for UIL and TMSCA events.

Mr. Breaux is happily married to Sarah, his best friend and the love of his life. He enjoys learning new information, playing guitar, and writing in third person. His favorite things to do are going to church, spending time with his family and friends, teaching, eating, and reading, in that order. He is allergic to bananas and watermelon, and this is his greatest regret. If you are reading this, he wants you to enjoy a watermelon on his behalf.
