• Goals of Elementary DAEP and Program Objectives

The ES DAEP has been established to assist students in acquiring the skills necessary to be successful in a regular classroom setting.  This is the strictest disciplinary setting within the district.  For many students, this means some type of behavioral change must occur.  To help students return to their regular setting, the following goals have been established:

Goal1:  The student will fully understand how his/her actions led to placement within the DAEP

Strategies to Achieve Goal #1: Within the period assigned to the DAEP, the student will:

    • Meet with the Administrator and discuss the initial placement.

    • Write the reason for his/her placement in DAEP and provide documentation on improved decision-making processes that will be used in the future.

    • The BIS will facilitate a meeting with the student/parent to ensure their understanding.

Goal 2:  The student will successfully respect all adults and complete all assignments from the teacher/BIS while maintaining an optimistic attitude.

Strategies to Achieve Goal #2:  Within the period assigned to the DAEP, the student will:

    • The student will complete all classroom assignments while maintaining a positive attitude.

    • The student will focus on academic achievement growth and positive behavioral changes.

    • The staff will provide positive reinforcement and encouragement daily. The student will receive positive reinforcement from the faculty and staff as they work to promote student growth and development.

Goal 3:  The student, parent, and staff will fully dedicate themselves to helping the student succeed at DAEP.

    Strategies to Achieve Goal #3:

    • The DAEP staff will empower the student with positive behavioral tools to be successful throughout the school career.

    • Administration, parents, and students will conduct all communication professionally.

    • The student will experience a positive classroom environment designed to promote student growth and success.

    • The student will witness a collaborative effort between themselves, their parents, and staff to help ensure their success.
