  • The Beaumont Independent School District was established in 1983 through the merger of the former Beaumont School District (founded in 1883) with South Park Public Schools (founded in 1891).  The citywide district encompasses 153.34 square miles in Jefferson County in Southeast Texas and has 16,760 students enrolled.

    Enrollment / Age Requirements
    Kindergarten: Five years old on or before Sept. 1
    First Grade: Six years old on or before Sept. 1 

    TRANSPORTATION
    Beaumont ISD is pleased to offer transportation to and from school at no additional cost to eligible students living within the Beaumont ISD. The State of Texas defines students eligible for transportation aboard a school bus as those elementary students who live one or more miles away from their assigned school and for secondary students who live two or more miles away from their assigned school. Students residing within the one-mile boundary for elementary or the two-mile boundary for secondary may have transportation available if their neighborhood qualifies as hazardous under the district’s hazardous transportation policy.
